| Hard workin' Breastfeeders!
Except for the brand new album the band is currently recording now as we speak - every tentacle of this gigantic rock monster is very busy contributing to the cultural scene in Quebec! That's right, and if you watch Les septs jours du Talion when it comes out in cinemas on February 5th, you will find the eccentric Johnny Maldoror (Martin Dubreuil) playing and awful pedophile being torture by a revenge seeker. That's so great! Martin on the big screen, getting great reviews for his part, we are really thrilled and cannot wait to see it! Did you know that Sunny Duval was a writer? Yes! A really great one and did you know he's releasing a book?! His first book, En D'sous, will be out really soon and the book launch will be at the Cheval Blanc on February 1st at 6PM! Le Nombre being away from the stage until next june doesn't mean his members are not active whatsoever. that's the case for singer Ludwig Was (aka Louis Cyr) that just won the best indie production award in the Regard d'ici category at the recent Vues d'Afrique Festival Festival in Montréal! His short Maraboutage exposes the universe of an African wrestler and was made during his current stay in Niger. do we have to recall that Le Nombre is gonna be back soon and the Ludwig Wax masters the mike and the tambourine as well at the camera?? A venir près de chez vous!!! 2005-04-27 Breastfeeding on US campuses! Breastfeeders keep on keeping on US radio ... After reaching 3rd place in January at WFMU (NJ) and playing a live session there last February, breastfeeding continues to take place on US campuses all over the country... Et en français s'il-vous plaît! - Dejeuner sur l'herbe, the band's first album, was in the top-5 at MIT's WMBR as soon as it went into rotation. It was as high as number number 2 by feb. 26th. The single "J'pourrais pas vivre avec toi" was even named single of the week on the Late Riser's Club, on january 31st 2005. Smells like a live session will happen there pretty pretty soon!!! - The album was also number 6 on the more recent chart at WCSB, university of Cleveland. Watch out for a live concert from Les Breastfeeders in june on the air!!! -Les Breastfeeders entered the charts at number 4 on march 11 at WPRB at Princeton University, NJ. - In California, end of march, the band was number 32 of the top-50 at KCPR- University of California in San Luis Obispo. - The album was also in the top 30 at KVCU-University of Colorado in march. The band's debut was also added to rotations in Détroit (MI), Thalahassee (FL), San Marcos (TX), Davis (CA), New York (NY), Royal Oak (MI), Portland (OR) twice, Chapel Hill (NC) and Atlanta (GA). Would Les Breastfeeders be doing some intelligent rock? Is "poésie française" cool again? Nothing is sure but we'll have to send people check it out for sure... 2005-04-02 Brestfeeders' invasion n NYC and NJ!!! That is now confirmed, Les Breastfeeders are targeting the Big Apple mid-february. Their record Déjeuner sur l’Herbe is now available in the US through Revolver and Triage Music. They’ll first hit on Asbury Lanes’ stage in Asbury Park, NJ. In that city that has given birth to The Boss, they’ll play in a middle of a bowling alley that actually works. So is the PA!!! They'll open for Denver's Orangu-Tones. This is going to be a hell of a party! The next day will see them aired live on WFMU’s waves. They’ll play a live session on the Cherry Blossom Clinic from 3pm to 6pm, right out of Jersey City! Check ‘em out live at WFMU or later in the archives on Terre T's page. Next, will be NYC (at least!), for a live concert at Lit Lounge (93, second Avenue, NYC) with locals Cobra Phase. For that night expect some crazy rock action in East Village!!!
